WIAIH strives to enhance the lives of people with an intellectual disability or autism, to provide support to their families, and to maintain and develop innovative services and sensitize the community.

Our Philosophy

Office des personnes handicapées du Québec

L’Office des personnes handicapées du Québec is a government agency that helps increase the social participation of people with disabilities.

The Office performs a unique combination of functions such as:

  • Carrying out assessments and research on the social participation of persons with disabilities in Québec, resulting in recommendations based on the analysis of reliable data;
  • Advising government, ministries, public and private bodies, and municipalities on any public initiative that may have an impact on the social participation of people with disabilities; 
  • Consulting partners and collaborating with relevant organizations in seeking  effective and applicable solutions to reduce barriers to the social participation of people with disabilities;
  • Providing direct services to people with disabilities, their families and loved ones.
